Cambridge PorchFest: Central Square Edition on Sunday 9/20 was a reminder of why creative placemaking matters — for both community and commerce.
With 18 performances spanning from Cambridge City Hall Steps to Naco Taco along the Mass Ave corridor, our Cultural District was transformed into a live soundtrack of Cambridge.

Residents, visitors, and music lovers from across the region gathered to experience the sound, soul, and flavor of Central Square — from front porches and plazas to outdoor patios and sidewalks.

Events like this don’t just bring joy — they fuel our local economy. Summer programming helps small businesses thrive by increasing foot traffic, encouraging exploration, and creating reasons for people to linger and spend locally.

From cafes and restaurants to independent retailers and neighborhood vendors, everyone benefits when our streets come alive with culture.

Thank you to the artists, business owners, neighbors, and community partners who made this celebration possible. Central Square continues to prove that culture is not just entertainment — it’s economic development, it’s community wellness, and it’s what keeps our city connected.
