Central Square is at an inflection point.
Over the last few years, we’ve pushed what a Business Improvement District can be - leaning into culture, public space, small business support, and real partnerships across the City, property owners, and the community.
We’ve built momentum.
Now we need the operational strength to match it.
So—we’re hiring a Deputy Director.
Why This Role Matters
This isn’t about adding staff.
It’s about building capacity.
As President of the Central Square BID, my role is increasingly focused on external strategy—working with the City, shaping policy, advancing major initiatives, and positioning Central Square for what’s next.
To do that well, we need a strong #2 someone who can run the internal machine at a high level and help translate vision into execution.
What This Role Is
This is a senior leadership role.
Part operator, part strategist, part builder.
The Deputy Director will oversee day-to-day operations, align our team around clear priorities, and make sure the work we’re doing actually lands with businesses, with residents, and in the public realm.
This role sits at the center of everything:
- Operations and team management
- Program execution and delivery
- Organizational systems and accountability
- Turning big ideas into real, tangible outcomes
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can move between big-picture thinking and getting things done.
Someone who understands that this work is both operational and human.
Someone who can lead a team, manage complexity, and bring structure without slowing things down.
You don’t need to come from a BID but you do need to understand cities, systems, and how to make things happen in the real world.
What This Unlocks
This hire is about scale.
It allows us to:
- Execute at a higher level across all our initiatives
- Be more responsive to the needs of the district
- Take on bigger opportunities without dropping the ball on the basics
- Continue evolving Central Square into a model for what modern district management can look like
Central Square has always been a place where things happen.
This is about making sure we have the team to meet that energy and shape it.
Join Us
If this sounds like you or someone you know I’d encourage you to take a look.
This is a chance to step into a meaningful leadership role at a moment when the work is real, the stakes are high, and the upside is significant.
Application deadline: Tuesday April 21st, 2026 at 5:00 PM — no extensions.
